March at Deborah Marlene's In Beautiful Mokelumne Hill
Mokelumne Hill, CA...As the winds of March are blowing- things are changing once again at Deborah Marlene’s. This month she is welcoming Sandra Maurer of Calaveras County. Sandra is a resident of Murphys, California, and is primarily a self-taught watercolorist. She paints exclusively in watercolor and strives to capture the spirit and essence of her subjects through the play of light and shadow. She has studied life science extensively and enjoys painting and capturing the beauty of both plants and animals in their natural setting...
Sandra has attended numerous workshops with local artists; Carolyn MacPherson, as well as Jane Hofstettter, Dale Laitinen and Jill Figler. She has won local awards, is an active Member of the Arts of Bear Valley, and served as a board member for that group. You may visit that website to see few more samples of her work..
Sandra loves to do art demonstrations and will be here on the front porch demonstrating her unique style, when the weather permits.
In addition to Sandra’s work Deborah will be showing some of her favorite paintings in the gallery this month. There are also framed prints and smaller paintings available. Deborah just recently completed a commissioned work of the renovated local school house and this
Ruth Morrow, of Arnold is still represented with her mini paintings. Ruth is a much collected artist of the area, and for as little as $10.00 you can purchase a lovely original miniature painting.
Ingrid Brown, of Ione had a wonderful sales record this past month. She has a unique style in her creations of chunky styled bead bracelets and necklaces.
Clover Gibbs, is our local gal. She lives here in Mokelumne Hill and offers an intricate style of jewelry; which is very affordable. She does Egyptian Coil jewelry and each piece is totally original.
Local soaps of Glenda Glass, of Ione, are still selling well, even if you do not purchase them you will enjoy the fragrance that they give Deborah Marlene’s.
The newest Artistic Gift available at the Gallery are handmade cards by Joyce Klassen, of San Andreas. She combines comedic sayings with original prints and embellishments and comes up with a totally unique greeting card. These are very fun and Deborah invites you to come and check them out.
Our gallery hours are 10AM-5PM Thursday-Friday-Saturday-Monday and 10AM to 4PM on Sundays.
A meet the Artist Reception will be held for Sandra on Sunday, March 16th from 2:30 to 4PM. The public is invited to attend.
