Mark Twain Medical Center Welcomes Board Certified Gastroenterologist Dr. Charles Cox to Mark Twain Specialty Care Center
San Andreas, CA....Mark Twain Medical Center (MTMC) has expanded its Specialty Care Center for Gastroenterology by bringing Dr. Charles Cox to practice in Calaveras County. His main office is located on the MTMC main campus in San Andreas. “We are very proud to be working with Dr. Charles Cox,” said Craig Marks, Hospital President. “He is a highly skilled board certified gastroenterologist and well known and respected in the Tri-County area. Once again providing care to our community, Dr. Cox will be an asset to our already skilled and busy Specialty Services Team.” “Dr. Cox practices cutting-edge evidence-based medicine,” commented Sean Anderson, M.D., Chief Medical Officer at MTMC. “He is well liked and respected by the physicians and patients in our community. I am pleased to welcome him back on our team of highly quality professionals.”
Dr. Cox completed his Doctorate of Medicine at Hahnemann University, followed by a Pediatric
Internship at Mt. Zion Hospital, a Medicine Internship and Residency at Highland Hospital in Oakland
and a Gastroenterology Fellowship at Stanford University Medical Center. Besides being a life-long
learner, evidenced by his completion of a Master of Business Administration in 2000, Dr. Cox has
practiced in many settings in Nevada, the Bay Area, Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties.
“There is a great need for specialty care in Calaveras County,” commented Dr. Cox “Most recently I have
been pursuing other career opportunities in various practice settings exploring new communities. While I
have enjoyed the experiences of traveling and teaching others, I have missed serving the patients in the
Calaveras, Tuolumne and the surrounding counties. I am looking forward to once again being a part of
the Medical Staff and healthcare team at MTMC.”
Practicing in San Andreas, Dr. Cox will join the healthcare team of Dr. Ian Renner and other specialists.
Dr. Cox can be reached at the Mark Twain Medical Center Gastroenterology Specialty Care– by calling
754-2968. The practice welcomes returning and new patients alike.
