San Andreas, CA...The Calaveras Council of Governments is the Regional Transportation Planning Agency for Calaveras County.Currently we have openings on the Council for Three (3) Citizen Members, One (1) Alternate Citizen Member. We welcome your application! The CCOG has a number of transportation planning programs as well as bike and pedestrian programs, all of which are having positive impacts in our community.

NOTICE OF RECRUITMENT
CALAVERAS COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS
Seeking Three (3) Citizen Members
One (1) Alternate Citizen Member

The Council consists of seven members: Two (2) members appointed by the Calaveras County Board of
Supervisors, two (2) members appointed by the Angels Camp City Council, and three (3) at-large members chosen
from the general public. At-large members are selected by a majority of City/County representatives.
The CCOG, also known as the Regional Transportation Planning Agency, is intended to act as the lead planning and
administrative agency for transportation projects and programs in Calaveras County. Through the CCOG, the
coordinated efforts of the City, County, and State will bring positive improvements to the overall County transportation
system.

Eligibility Requirements Required upon Appointment
Must be a resident of Calaveras County 700 Form filed with the County Clerk
Not employed by the CCOG Complete online Ethics Training Course
The Council meets on the first Wednesday of every month. Members are paid $50 each meeting per diem.

209-754-2094. The application process includes the completion of an application form, submission of a letter of
intent, and presentation to the board. All applications must be received no later than November 15th, 2013.

Citizen Member Appointment Procedure

Advertisement and outreach for Citizen Member Candidates will begin in October and run through November.
Outreach efforts will be conducted utilizing one or more of the following outlets: announcement of vacancy to be filled
during the September meeting, advertisement in the area newspapers, posting on CCOG website, and/or other
means deemed necessary by the Council. CCOG staff will prepare Application Packets for each interested
candidate detailing the timeline and procedures described below. Each Application Packet will include relative
CCOG information including but not limited to the JPA, Annual Report and Overall Work Program.

The Public Member Application Process will include the submission of a Letter of Interest by prospective candidates.
The Letters of Interest prepared and submitted by prospective candidates should include the following elements: a
description of experience as it pertains to transportation, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities as applicable to
the mission of the CCOG, and a detailed description of interest.. All Application Packets must be received by CCOG
staff no later than eleven work days prior to the respective CCOG meeting in December.

All complete Application Packets will be submitted to the Council and placed on the Agenda for review during the
regularly scheduled December meeting. Applicants will also be invited to speak to the Council on their behalf during
the December meeting.

During the CCOG meeting Council members will discuss the qualifications of the candidates, ask questions of the
candidates, make nominations, and approve the appointment of the new/returning Citizen Member in accordance
with the provisions of the JPA.

The newly appointed Citizen Member will take his/her seat at the beginning of the regularly scheduled meeting for the
month of February.

Citizen Members will serve a two (2) year term. Terms as established are staggered with appointments occurring
annually. There shall not be two (2) Citizen Members from the same supervisorial district or City of Angels serving on
the Council at the same time unless approved by the Member Agency’s governing body. Citizen Members may not
miss more than three (3) consecutive meetings without the approval of the Chair. Citizen Members may be removed
at any time by a majority vote of the Member Agency representatives.
