BIOGRAPHY:
Timothy Mulligan grew up in Sacramento and currently lives in Rocklin, California. He attended Sacramento City College and received a Fine Arts degree from California State University, Sacramento where he studied under several notable artists.
After graduating, Timothy worked as a printmaker creating etchings and linoleum prints, during which time he also produced several watercolors, pastels, and pen and ink drawings, also creating a series of large pencil drawings. His works were exhibited at the Crocker Art Museum, the Haggin Museum, the California State Fair, and other local art galleries.
From 1993 to 2007 Timothy home schooled his two children. And as their teacher, he discovered ways to to integrate art and creativity into many of their subjects. Both his daughter and his son graduated from college in 2011, the same year he decided to return to art full time and pursue his lifelong interest of becoming a Painter. Many of his paintings ultimately try to capture a singular moment in a special place. Some tell stories; others depict light and shadows as the driving force of the composition; most just remind him of the beautiful world that he lives in.
Timothy has exhibited paintings in many local, regional and Bay Area art galleries. He has also exhibited work in national and international art competitions.
