11th Annual Ironstone Concours Promises Fun For the Whole Family!

Murphys, CA...The Ironstone Concours Foundation released the list of featured cars for the 2007 Concours d’ Elegance “Celebration of Automotive History” and entry forms are now available to car owners wanting to show case their classic automobiles, motorcycles, trailers and boats. “Last year was our best show ever with over 300 classic cars and vehicles which allowed us to raise a record amount for youth related education programs throughout California. This year we hope to set new records in attendance with the help of our media partners and sponsors” said Gail Kautz, Ironstone Foundation Chair and spokesperson. We have 150 photos and video of last years event get you in the mood. We also have a 5 minute clip of a walking the grounds peek at last years show. The 2006 Awards Video is enclosed...


The Ironstone Concours also announced that included in their feature cars this year, is the 1949 Mercury 6- passenger Coupe driven by James Dean in the 1955 movie “Rebel without A Cause” movie. The movie would debut one month after the tragic death of James Dean and the Mercury would go on to develop a cult following among auto enthusiast. The one-of-a-kind 49 Merc is being shown by the National Automobile Museum –Harrah Collection out of Reno Nevada and will be exhibited in the Ironstone Gardens along with other classic vehicles.

The 2007 Ironstone Concours will also have activities for the whole family including an on-site virtual road rally, live demonstrations by the Future Farmers of America competing in small engine diagnosis and 4H members and their animals interacting with the attendees. During the day children will be asked to vote on their favorite cars and awards for the judged show competition will be awarded on the main stage at Ironstone Vineyards Amphitheatre at 4pm.

Also this year special classes for Mitchell Automobiles and Franklin Automobiles as well as a special class for American Dream Convertibles built between 1953 and 1961 have been added. This is to include the special, low production offerings such as the 1953 to 1956 Packard Caribbean, 1953-1961 Cadillac Eldorado, Chrysler 300, 1953-1954 Buick Skylark, and 1953 Oldsmobile Fiesta. This will be in addition to our usual lineup of classes and vintage trailers.

The 2007 Concours d’ Elegance “Celebration of Automotive History” gates will be open from 10am-4pm Saturday September 22nd . General admission tickers are available at the gate for $20 and those 19 and younger are free.

Car entry remains $35 and includes General Admission, continental breakfast, and buffet lunch for 2 adults and a complimentary gift basket. About the Ironstone Concours Foundation

The Ironstone Concours d’Elegance is presented by the Ironstone Concours Foundation, a non-profit organization. Proceeds generated from this event have benefited various 4-H Youth Programs including; Horse Classics, the Guide Dog and Service Dog program, Computer Corps and Citizenship Service Learning. Additionally the Ironstone Concours Foundation has pledged a generous donation to the building fund for the California state Future Farmers of America (FFA) Headquarters in Galt California, along with regional FFA high school education programs, and continues to fund scholarships in partnership with the California State Fair Scholarship Fund and the Calaveras County Fair Scholarship program. Help foster young citizens who will make a positive difference in our world.
