Theatre Under the Stars 2013: Dinner Wine and Shakespeare!

Murphys, CA... “The Complete Wrks of Wllm Shkspr (Abridged)[Revised]” Three crazy actors, all 37 of the bard's plays - 97 minutes!!!! The second show of the season at Cornelia B. Stevenot Memorial Amphitheatre is set to roll you over and make you cry with laughter! “The Complete Wrks of Wllm Shkspr (Abridged) [Revised]” was originally developed by Adam Long, Daniel Singer, and Jess Winfield, also known as the Reduced Shakespeare Company. Developed over years at the Renaissance Fairs of California in the 80’s, it was first performed in its original format at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 1987. 26 years later it has become one of the world's most popular plays.

“Complete Wrks” is full of non-stop action and includes over-the-top hilarity offering witty, contemporary interpretations of Romeo and Juliet, Julius Caesar, Macbeth and more. Othello is even performed as an old school rap! “Your entire family will laugh hysterically watching three very talented (or just plain crazy) actors attempt to take on the bard’s entire canon at light speed,” stated Director/Artistic Director Graham Green. “This play is an entertaining and intelligent way to introduce people of all ages to the brilliance of the world's most famous bard,” says Marketing Director Anthony De Page.

“Complete Wrks” runs Friday and Saturday nights, from August 2nd through September 1st.
M.C.T. offers audiences a magical outdoor experience in one of the most naturally beautiful venues in California. Guests can arrive as early as 6:30 in the evening to enjoy live acoustic music and fine dining under towering majestic Live Oaks, provided by award winning caterers such as Cupcake Wars’ winners Lila and Sage and Columbia House Catering, paired each night with award winning wineries including Val Du Vino and Hovey, all while accompanied by live pre-show entertainment performed by the most talented artists from the Sierra Nevada Foothills, including Grover Anderson, Jill Warren, Dennis Brown, Jim Lanier, members of The Hot Dark, Thick Soup, Swing Gitane and more! And of course, after dinner and under a spectacular sunset, patrons will enjoy in true Renaissance fashion - the masterful works of William Shakespeare.
Along with Lila and Sage and Columbia House, dinners will also be provided by Murphys Catering, Columbia House and Creative Catering. Other featured wineries will include La Folia Winery, Zucca Mountain Vineyards, Chatom Winery, Lavender Ridge and many others. For a calendar of performers please visit our website: www.murphyscreektheatre.org. Dinner ticket packages are $45, which includes a glass of wine. Dinner reservations are mandatory and may be made when purchasing tickets or by calling the theatre. Dinner will be served from 6:45 until 7:30 pm. Performances begin at 8 pm, with dessert to be served at intermission.
