Saturday Guided Tours at Indian Grinding Rock State Historic Park
Pine Grove, CA...Starting Saturday April 13, 2013 until May 18, 2013, Indian Grinding Rock State Historic Park will be offering a free guided tour on Saturdays with paid admission to the park. The tour begins at 11:30am and will last approximately 45 minutes to one hour – rain or shine....
Come learn about the park, the Miwok people of this area and discover the many opportunities to enjoy the park. Indian Grinding Rock State Historic Park is home to North America’s largest collection of mortar cups with 1,185 cups found in the park’s limestone outcropping. The park also offers a reconstructed Miwok village, two hiking trails, wildlife viewing, camping and the Chaw’se Regional Indian Museum.
Park and museum are located at 14881 Pine Grove-Volcano Road, Pine Grove, CA. Park hours are sunrise to sunset every day and museum hours are Friday through Monday 11:00am to 2:30pm.
