Business Focus with Mark Twain Medical Center's CEO Craig Marks (Welcome Home Update)
San Andeas, CA...(We planned this interview to be part of the Chamber's Welcome Home Campaign. We shot it a couple of weeks before the announcement so we thought a repost is in order. One of the things a vibrant and healthy community needs is quality health care. Mark Twain Medical Center's CEO Craig Marks and his team have the vision and plans to do just that) We had the pleasure to spend a few minutes with new Mark Twain Medical Center CEO Craig Marks. There have and will be big changes and plans at our local hospital and medical centers. They plan on recruiting up to 30 new providers over the next few years and they are opening up a new cancer center as well. We conducted our interview in a new Fluoroscopy Suite that is being installed.
With the changes in the health care environment there has been some realignment in employment numbers with layoffs in some departments and hiring in others with a small net reduction in staff.
Mark Twain will be positioned well for growth in new areas of service and for the future of health care. The goal for new and existing patients is to reduce or eliminate out of county trips and provide as much of their care close to home.
CEO Marks has highlighted his career in optimizing rural health care organizations. Midwestern born and raised he brings small town and community values to rural California.
The next few years will show what his influence can do here.
