A Magical and "Impossible" Night in Moke Hill
Mokelumne Hill, CA...Last Monday night the historic Hotel Leger was overflowing with community members and goodwill. The occasion was the premier of the Travel Channel's Hotel Impossible episode where the the recent makeover of the Leger was chronicled. Anthony Melchiorri veteran Hotelier and his crew suggested improvements and coordinated the makeover. This truly became a community event not only for the premier of the episode but also many of them had rolled up their sleeves and made the project happen. From former Supervisor Steve Wilensky who helped rally the community to Structural Engineer Terrance Weatherby who helped shepherd the project through the planning and building departments at the county to those who manned the brushes, hammers, brooms, mops, ladders and more to get the Hotel Leger ready for it's national audience and the next chapter in it's life...

We have video we took of the audience watching the episode, themselves and their town unveiled on national TV. This was another of those nights where the greatness of Calaveras County shined through. When someone in our community needs our help everyone rolls up their sleeves, grabs a mop and starts helping.
Business at the Hotel is up ever since the makeover and we are sure the added exposure will only take the revenues up another notch. So when you come to visit our humble gold country county make sure you stop by the Hotel Leger and catch up on part of California history since 1851.
