Fire Update....Groveland Graham Fire 60 Acres and Penn Fire at 50 Acres
Groveland and Murphys, CA...We just spoke with CAL-FIRE's Lisa Williams and as fo 5:15pm the two active incidents in the TCU are the Graham Fire in Groveland that has potential to threaten the Pine Mountain Lake area and closer to home in Murphys the Penn Fire is at 50 acres. Neither of these fires have any official containment at this time. More to follow.... Update as of 5:43pm...Just spoke with Prevention Officer Nancy Longmore and both fire are hold at about the same acreages at last report which is a good sign. The big helo has just arrived on the Penn Fire and is giving it some moisture... Update as of 5:53pm...just had a view check in from West Point and said they can see Murphys Plume from there... Update as of 5:58pm...The incident commander is reporting that if they can hold it the next few minutes they should be able to keep it from growing significantly. Next 1/2 hour they will trying to hold their ground... Misc Update...as of about an hour ago the Graham fire had 6 Engines, 1 Dozer, 2 Fire Crews, Air Attack, 4 Tankers, 2 Helo and one Tender. At last update they are doing a load and hold for one of the tankers at Columbia so it sounds like they may be getting the upper hand in Groveland. ...

The photo below from Jan Hovey gives a good reference point on location of the Penn Fire

Get a grip. If you want to whine about something whine about all the lookie-loos who are interfering with those needing to evacuate and the fire fighters. Or how about the people on the highway who won't pull over for the emergency personal. THEY are the ones who are insensitive and actually interfering with YOUR safety.

I make a non-combative request to change the, what I perceived to be, insensitive wording occurring in the article(s) regarding these fires and you feel the need to complain about is and possible flag the comment for deletion, as it is no longer on this site... who's the whiner now? If the fact that there are worse problems in this world that whatever one happens to be at hand (in my case, the tone of the article which you countered with rubber-neckers and such) then no one would ever be allowed to complain about anything ever.
