ALMA performs for Calaveras Arts in Mokelumne Hill July 25
Mokelumne Hill, CA...They are a little Latin, Rock, and Reggae. ALMA is performing at Mokelumne Hill for Calaveras Arts MIP on July 25. Local band ALMA is performing at Shutter Tree Park in Mokelumne Hill for the Calaveras Arts Council’s free Music in the Parks series. Music fills the park starting at 6:30p on July 25, 2012. ALMA is a high energy dance band from Northern California, blending fresh and original varieties of Latin, rock, reggae, hip hop and flamenco music. With musical influences from Jamaica, Spain, Cuba and the America's, ALMA takes the most potent rhythms from these cultures and infuses them into an intoxicating musical experience. Their upbeat dance music ignites a positive energy in the crowd always bringing them to their feet. Compared to Manu Chao, Santana and Sublime, ALMA balances upbeat conscious reggae/hip hop with spicy Latin flavors....
Consisting of 5 diverse members ALMA creates a truly originally sounds cape. Featuring Songwriter and Lead Vocalist Nicholas Lefler on Drum Set & Spanish Guitar; Damian Dianda on Bass; Rick Moore on Sax; Kiel Williams on Keys; and Bull Lewis on Sax, ALMA consists of a strong line up of experienced musicians and innovative songwriters. They have performed at virtually at every major music fest in the West appearing with Damian Marley, Jefferson Starship, The Wailers, Spearhead, Ozomatli and more. They have performed at venues like Reggae On The River, Sierra Nevada World Music Festival, 2002 Winter Olympics, ABC Studio, and the Avalon Ballroom and now, Calaveras Art Council’s Music in the Parks series.
To get to Mokelumne Hill, Shutter Tree Park take Highway 49 North towards Jackson. Make a right turn onto Main Street, Mokelumne Hill. Shutter Tree Park is located at the corner of Main and Center.
