John C. Hyde, 50 of Jamestown So Sadly Lost his Life in Last Evenng's Motorcycle Accident
Jamestown, CA...The CHP release is now in on the fatal accident we reported on last night. John C. Hyde, 50 of Jamestown sadly lost his life last evening when his 2000 Honda Motorcycle collided with a utility pole on Hwy 49 and Sims Road. Mr. Hyde was riding his motorcycle within the road closure approaching the intersection with Sims Road. As Mr. Hyde approached the traffic barricade, it appears he attempted to go around the left side of the barricade. The front tire and right front handlebar of the Honda hit the left side of the barricade. Mr. Hyde braked while veering off towards the west edge of the highway. Mr. Hyde struck a wood utility pole bordering the west side of the highway and was ejected...
Mr. Hyde sustained fatal injuries and expired at the scene. It should be noted the northbound side of Hwy 49 is closed to thru traffic for road construction between Hwy 120 in Chinese Camp and Montezuma Junction in Jamestown. Traffic barricades advising of the road closure are posted on the northbound side of Hwy 49 in Chinese Camp and at the intersection of Sims Road.
