Find Out What Makes Two Tone Steiny A Music Winner
Volcano, CA...Two-Tone Steiny and his band will perform aharp, well-rehearsed mix of gritty Chicago-style, harmonica-driven Blues and West Coast Swing at the Volcano Amphitheatre on Friday, July 13. Starting at 6:00 pm Mark “Steiny” Steinmetz will step to the mic and start the music that made him winner of the Sacramento Blues Society IBC Contest and a nominee for a Sammie Award. Spots on the cool, grassy terraces of the amphitheatre fill up fast, so get there early with your picnics and low-back chairs. This concert is free, presented by AmadorArts.....
Steinmetz has been heavily influenced by both traditional and contemporary Blues legends, recording and performing all his own original material. He’s fast becoming recognized as a charismatic showman whose trademark harp playing, vocals, and songwriting deliver a powerful dose of deep bluesy musical arrangements. Having performed and recorded with Blues greats such as Rick Estrin, Kid Andersen, Red Archibald, Butch Cousins and others, “Steiny” has produced two CDs of his own showcasing his unique style. Joining him will be Chris Christenson on guitar and vocals, Paul Viera on bass guitar, and Sonny Delarosa on drums. Together, they produce a sound that’s injected with the kind of soul that can only be gleaned by a fool in love, a broken heart, and a love gone bad. The music and the lyrics are powerful and the message is comforting.
To reach Volcano, take Pine Grove / Volcano Rd. off of Highway 88. Once in the town, the amphitheatre is on the left, across from the Post Office. There’s plenty of free parking on the quiet streets. Only three more T.G.I.F. free concerts remain. The next will be July 20 at Minnie Provis Park in Sutter Creek featuring “Feather River.” For more info, visit www.amadorarts.org
