Calaveras Community Foundation presents scholarship to Liliana Cerna of Wilseyville
Wilseyville, CA...The Beth E. Childs/ Genna Hurst Renewable Scholarship administered by the Calaveras Community Foundation (CCF) was presented to Liliana Cerna during the Senior Awards Assembly at Calaveras High School in late May, 2012. ...
Scott Ratterman, CCF Vice President-Administration, presents the Childs/Hurst Renewable Scholarship Plaque to scholarship recipient Liliana Cerna.
Liliana is the daughter of Jose Cerna and Ana Elvia Rendon of Wilseyville, CA. She plans to pursue a career in medicine and become a pediatrician. In the fall, she will attend Sonoma State University or UC Santa Cruz. In her essay, Liliana shares her passion for the medical field and currently volunteers at the Silver Oak Medical offices in San Andreas. Through the ROP Medical Program Liliana learned the basics of health care and is very passionate about her dream of becoming a pediatrician. Upon achieving her medical degree, she hopes to travel to rural countries in the world to aid children and families in need of medical assistance and care.
The Foundation has awarded $52,000 for this program since the scholarship’s inception in 2000. This scholarship (a 4-year $4,000 renewable scholarship) is awarded annually to a graduating student residing in the West Point/ Wilseyville area.
