Monthly Sunday Afternoon “Fine Arts Concerts” Begin July 29 in Moke Hill
Mokelumne Hills, CA...A series of three monthly Fine Arts Concerts will be presented in Mokelumne Hill at the Petroglyphe Gallery on Sunday afternoons at 4:00 pm. The first one will be July 29 featuring classical guitarist Daniel Roest and flutist Francesca Anderson. Tickets for the limited seating will be $15 in advance, or $20 at the venue door which will open at 3:30 pm. The audience is invited to simultaneously sit and listen to the performance while enjoying the art atmosphere of the beautiful Main ....

Street gallery space. Complimentary wine and light appetizers will be served at 3:30 before the concert begins. The casual approach to this music and art event is meant to offer an unusually complete sensory experience.
Subsequent “Summer Sunday” performances at the Petroglyphe Gallery will be on August 26 featuring flamenco guitarist Gordon Rowland, and on September 23 with Jon Mendle, who plays the 11-string archguitar and who’s toured with Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble. Tickets will also be available at Aeolian Harp in Angels Camp and at Calaveras Arts Gallery in San Andreas.
For the July 29th performance, meet Daniel Roest: after earning his M.A. in Music at San Jose State University, he has played guitar solo and duo with a broad range of styles pleasing all ages in nearly every kind of venue. With private teaching in his Folsom studio, performing and presenting, he leads a full life in the arts. Francesca Anderson earned B.A. and M.A. degrees also at San Jose State University, where she received extraordinary training from Professor Isabelle Chapuis-Starr, who studied with several of France's best-known flutists, including Jean-Pierre Rampal, Michel Debost and Gaston Crunelle. Anderson has also studied with many other renowned flutists. She is currently a performing member of the Folsom Symphony Orchestra and the Camellia Flute Choir. She is also actively teaching music.
Petroglyphe Gallery, home to 29 exhibiting artists and 17 jewelry artists, is located at 8317 Main Street, Mokelumne Hill. Near the intersection of Highway 49 and 26 turn onto Main Street. The gallery is across from the historic Hotel Leger. Regular hours of Petroglyphe Gallery: Thurs – Sat, 11:30 am – 5:30 pm; Sunday, 11:30 am – 4:00 pm.
