Reminder....Potato Hilling This Weekend!
For the past three years, FoCuS has been at the heart of the food security movement in Tuolumne and Calaveras counties. Members have stepped forward offering land and supplies and elbow grease to help get potatoes, seed crops, and other food into the fertile Mother Lode ground. This year, our potato patch on Wards Ferry Road was planted on May 12. The first hilling was June 16, and the next is tomorrow, July 14.....
Whether you have participated previously, have wanted to, or are just curious, we invite you to come out and participate in a part of these important activities supporting the health of our community. Details are below.

Potato Patch Location: 17939 Wards Ferry Road (9/10 of a mile off Tuolumne Rd in Sonora)
Date: Saturday, June 16, 2012
Time: Start is 8am until about 10am (only a couple of hours expected)
What to bring: water for yourself, tools are available but more would be helpful. So bring a hoe if you have one.
