And the Score Is? Election Night in San Andreas!! ~By John Hamilton
San Andreas, CA...Election Nights have become almost a ritual for us over the last 7 years. ThePineTree.net endeavors to provide the fastest results for you as the numbers roll in precinct by precinct. The crowds are fewer now as many of you know the results will show up in close to real time online. There is still something about watching the numbers change as the precinct boxes return from across the county. This is real human drama in action. It takes guts and courage for the contestants to place themselves on the ballot. They become the product they are selling. Will missteps from their past doom their chances? Will old allies stick by them for one more election cycle? Can the new players on the field raise their name recognition high enough to give them a chance?....
Above...The final results just before 11pm. The Record's Dana Nichols & Candidate Mike Dell'Orto, Supervisor Tofanelli Checking results with CAO Boyce....more above.
Last night was mid-terms and for the District Attorney race it was also the final as Barbara Yook returns to the DA position she was appointed to after the passing of former DA Tuttle.
In the District Four Supervisor race former supervisor Russ Thomas came up short in his attempt to regain a seat. Now Tom Tryon, one of the longest serving supervisors in nation will battle former Angels Camp Mayor Debbie Ponte in November. Battle is the appropriate term for this race as it has really become a no holds barred contest the last few weeks.
District One Supervisor Gary Tofanelli and San Andreas businessman Cliff Edson will face off in November as Joe Kelly failed to earn enough votes to make it to the finals.
In District Two businessman and retired Silicon Valley Exec Bryce Randall will face retiring Supervisor Steve Wilenski's heir apparent Chris Wright in the finals. Former two term Supervisor Mike Dell Orto come up just short in his bid to regain a spot in November's contest.
In the 5th Assembly Race local son Rico Oller will face Frank Bigelow in the Republican vs Republican battle in November. This race will no doubt be a brutal and expensive race. It also signifies the battle for the Republican party being fought in the state. It is Conservative vs Moderate, Pliable vs Principled battle to see which way the party will go in the future...
Thanks again for all of you who stopped by the site last night. Now we will give you a rest from politicing until Labor Day and then it is back on for the Battle to November.
