Near Miss in Horse Caused Accident
Valley Springs, CA...Just after 5am yesterday a 46 year old Valley Springs man was driving his 2005 Ford Focus westbound just east of the San Joaquin County Line. As he exited the roadway his headlights illuminated a large dark horse in the roadway. The horse was standing in the westbound lane, directly in the path of his vehicle. He swerved his vehicle to the right to avoid the horse...
He then lost control of is vehicle and crossed the traffic lanes and struck a temporary concrete divider south of the roadway. The impact caused the Focus to overturn onto it's passenger side. He was able to exit the vehicle on his own.
The horse was not hit and the owner was located...
