Seana Hogan is The New 24 Hour Women's Cycling World Record Holder
San Jose, CA...With the results still to be certified it appears the new 24 hours World Cycling Record Holder is Seana Hogan from Valley Springs. In what ended up being very poor, windy and cold conditions at the Hellyer Velodrome in San Jose. Seana found the strength to break the old mark by almost 4 miles. The Final uncertified distance. 444.78 miles 18.53 average...
Seana held this mark for many years previously before it was broken last year. Seana has now retaken the record at the tender age of 52.
Way to go Seana and thanks for showing all of us that age really is just a number!!

Even more amazing when you consider that she did it in such sub-optimal conditions, using a bike that looked like it was equipped for the road, rather than being a lighter, more aerodynamically enhanced and efficient track-specific model.
