ROSE DAY in Columbia State Park May 20th
Columbia, CA...The Golden Sierra Rose Society and Rosemary's Roses in Columbia present the first annual ROSE DAY in Columbia State Historic Park. This free event will be held in Angelo's Hall on State Street in the state park on Sunday, May 20, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Rose Walks - guided tours of the park to view the roses growing there - are scheduled for 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Fred Boutin, a noted expert on Old Garden Roses, will speak at 1 p.m. ....
.If you have a mystery Old Garden Rose in your garden, bring in a bloom and he will attempt to identify it. Other features of Rose Day include static displays about roses, demonstrations throughout the day, a continual (looped) slide show depicting roses in Columbia State Historic Park from previous years, roses in vases, rose plants for sale, and a raffle of garden baskets.
