National Volunteer Week: Sheriff Kuntz Expresses Gratitude towards Sheriff’s Volunteers
Calaveras County, CA..."I would like to take a moment out of our busy lives and express my appreciation to each and every one of the Sheriff Volunteers. The National Volunteer Week began in 1974, by President Richard Nixon signing an Executive Order recognizing volunteers throughout the United States. Since then every US President has signed a proclamation in support of National Volunteer Week....
The Resolution recognizing the achieved hours and commitment, in 2011 43,785 miles were patrolled and 9,557 donated hours. That is an achievement that you should be very proud of. These are bonus hours and miles that citizens of Calaveras County can feel a little safer knowing there are more eyes and ears watching over them.
Again, thank you for all of your dedicated time.
