In Loving Memory of Jennifer Nielsen, 1958~2012
Arnold, CA....Arnold resident, Jenny Nielsen, was called home by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on the afternoon of April 15th, 2012 while in Doctor's Hospital in Modesto, CA. She was born on April 1, 1958 in Berkely, CA and grew up in San Francisco. She was the daughter of Shelby R. King and Margaret S. King, both native San Franciscans. She attended Katherine Delmar Burke Girls School as did her Mother and Grandmother....
SHE STUDIED METEOROLOGY AT SAN FRANCISCO STATE UNIVERSITY AND PLAYED VOLLEYBALL FOR THE VARSITY TEAM.
HER VARIOUS VOCATIONS INCLUDED WORKING FOR TIFFANY’S IN SAN FRANCISCO, BOOKKEEPING AND OWNING HER OWN PROCESS SERVING BUSINESS.
SHE MET HER HUSBAND DOUGLAS TIMOTHY NIELSEN, CHRISTMAS WEEK 1986, AND THEIR FIRST DATE WAS NEW YEAR’S EVE. THEY MARRIED DEC. 31, 1987. JENNY AND DOUG BEGAN THEIR MARRIED LIFE TOGETHER IN ALAMEDA AND MOVED TO ARNOLD IN 1991 WHERE THEY BEGAN NIELSEN WOODWORKS. JENNY WORKED SIDE BY SIDE WITH DOUG AND DID ALL THE FINISHING FOR THEIR WOOD PRODUCTS AS WELL AS MANAGED THE ADMINISTRATIVE SIDE OF THE BUSINESS. JENNY WAS ALSO INVOLVED IN A LOCAL FOOD CO-OP AND WAS ON THE LEADERSHIP TEAM OF CBS, A LOCAL COMMUNITY BIBLE STUDY. SHE ENJOYED MEMORIZING SCRIPTURE AND ENCOURAGED OTHERS IN THAT PURSUIT. BIG TREES COMMUNITY BIBLE CHURCH HAS BEEN THEIR CHURCH HOME WHERE SHE WAS LOVED AND APPRECIATED BY ALL.
SHE IS SURVIVED BY DOUGLAS, HER HUSBAND OF 24 YEARS, HER SISTER PAMELA KING OF MARSEILLE FRANCE, HER NIECES McKENNA AND MADISON NIELSEN AND ZOE CAHN AND NEPHEW ANTOINE CAHN. SHE IS ALSO SURVIVED BY HER TWO FRENCH BULLDOGS, FRANCIS AND STELLA.
JENNY BEGAN HER SPIRITUAL WALK WITH THE LORD ON JANUARY 12, 1986 AND IS NOW BY HIS SIDE ENJOYING HIS PROMISES.
MEMORIAL SERVICES ARE SCHEDULED TO BE HELD AT CHAPEL IN THE PINES ON THE AFTERNOON OF MAY 6, WITH A POTLUCK RECEPTION TO FOLLOW

Jenny was such a great example of a Christian. She was loved by many and will be missed by even more. We are just very thankful she is with our Lord and Saviour and that she is no longer suffering and in pain. God bless those of us who are left behind!

What a beautiful picture of Jenny. I will miss my dear friend and was so blessed to be with her till the end and say goodbye and tell her to run to the arms of Jesus. Jenny I will miss our DSW shopping trips, our wonderful talks of our Lord and how we became sisters in Christ. I will see you soon my dear friend

Jenny was a great classmate while growing up together at Burke's school. Always happy, warm and a great friend. It is hard to imagine that she is gone from this earth, but will always be a special member of our class!
While I had lost contact with her with the exception of our 30th class reunion, her smile and kindness reminded us of how much we were all bonded together.
Our deepest sympathies to the entire family.
