Funeral Services and Traffic Delays Due to Deputy Sheriff’s Funeral Procession
Modesto, CA – On April 20, 2012, at approximately 12:00 PM the funeral services for Deputy Sheriff Robert Paris will be held at Big Valley Grace Community Church located at 4040 Tully Rd in Modesto, CA. At 1:30 PM there will be a Law Enforcement Funeral Procession for Deputy Robert Paris. The Procession is anticipated to be of significant length and will involve Law Enforcement agencies from all over the State of California. The Procession will have an estimated 30-45 minute affect on each of the below listed streets and intersections....
1. At 1:30 PM the procession will leave Big Valley Grace Community Church onto Southbound Tully Road.
2. Southbound Tully to Eastbound Briggsmore Avenue.
3. Eastbound Briggsmore to Southbound Claus.
4. Southbound Claus to Eastbound Yosemite (SR 132)
5. Eastbound Yosemite (SR 132) to Southbound Santa Fe.
6. Southbound Santa Fe to Lakewood Memorial Park.
**During this event Tully Rd between Pelandale and Palmilla will be closed to accommodate parking for services**

Sheriff's Department Mourns Tragic Loss of Deputy
Modesto, CA – It’s with a heavy heart that Sheriff Adam Christianson announced earlier today the tragic death of Deputy Robert Paris. Deputy Paris was shot and killed in the line of duty, while serving an eviction notice in the 2100 #Blk of Chrysler Drive, in the City of Modesto. Deputy Paris is a sixteen year veteran of the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department. Deputy Paris served his community with pride and admiration.
“This is a tragic day for law enforcement and public safety,” said Sheriff Adam Christianson. “Deputy Paris paid the ultimate price, sacrificing his life, while protecting and serving the citizens of Stanislaus County.” “Our thoughts and prayers are with Bob’s family, the community, our sheriff’s family and all the law enforcement personnel from every jurisdiction in the central valley who come to our aid today.”
Deputy Paris is survived by his parents, brother and two adult children. This is a tremendous loss for the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department and the community.
The shooting investigation is currently being handled by the Modesto Police Department. Further details will be released when available. Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced as soon as they are made.
