Traffic News...Hwy 49 blocked by traffic accident north of Angels Camp!(Updated) Now Re-Opened
Hwy 49 is blocked by a multiple vehicle accident north of Angels Camp. Avoid the area if possible. Multiple vehicle accident just north of Angels Camp involving at least three vehicles plus a County Transit bus. Witnesses on the scene say that there was a car waiting to make a left hand turn going northbound on Hwy 49. The County Transit bus was unable to slow down in time and clipped a waiting vehicle then went head on into a southbound SUV. No fatalities, but multiple injuries. Personnel on the scene say that there were six to seven people on the bus which they are still removing at this time. One way traffic is starting now. Try to avoid the area at least for the next hour.
 
We spoke with the driver of the SUV and he was on his way to Pinecrest.
