Columbia, CA..This year, Columbia will host a variety of holiday events. Starting the season off, the Columbia City Hotel will host Thanksgiving Dinner. Keeping with the annual tradition, the 29th Annual Victorian Feast will also be held at the City Hotel. The feast will run from December 6th through December 11th and December 17th and 18th beginning at 6 pm each evening, and will include a melodrama, Christmas carols, a five course meal and fine wines....

On December 2nd and 3rd, take part in the docent-led Lamplight Tours. This year’s program titled “Twas a Night in Columbia” revolves around a famished town coming together to give the children a Christmas to remember. Participants will be led by kerosene lantern down the streets of Columbia to visit various vignettes in a walking play. Reservations are required and tickets are $15 on Friday night and $15-$20 on Saturday night.

The Columbia docents will be out in costume on the weekends of December 10th-11th and 17th-18th for A Miner’s Christmas. Visitors can try roasted chestnuts, children’s crafts, and might even get a glimpse of Father Christmas!

The Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the Merry Merchants on Friday, December 9th from 5-8pm where businesses are open late and Christmas shopping abounds and the Las Posadas Nativity Procession on December 11th.

Other happenings in the park include the Equestrian Parade and toy drive on December 11th and candy cane making at Nelson’s Candy Kitchen during the weekends of November 25th-December 18th.

The town will be decorated with holiday trimmings beginning the week of Thanksgiving. Businesses are generally open from 10:00-4:00 each day and admission to the park is free. The Columbia Chamber of Commerce continues to sell 2012 calendars for $8 and can be found at several merchants in town. Pick up yours for a Christmas gift today!
