Police and Fire Officers of the Year!
Angels-Murphys Rotary Club held its annual "Officers of the Year" luncheon recently where local Police, Fire and Correctional Officers were honored for their outstanding public service. This year was special since it marks the first year that Fire Fighter awards were added to the event. Each officer receives a engraved plaque and a chance to speak at the luncheon....
 
Donna M. Stevenson President of Angels-Murphys Rotary Club also made a special presentation to the Chief of Angels Camp Police Department Tony Tocheria. Donna presented him with a framed photograph of officer Jared Poortinga to pass on to his family as well as a check for $250, for use however the family needed. The photograph presented to the Chief was that of Jared receiving his own Officer of the Year award in 2005. Chief Tocheria was visibly effected by the presentation and many of the officers had kind words and sentiments for the department and the family as they received their awards.

Sheriff's Department Officer of the year Rick Dibasilio - Senior Deputy Sheriff

Sierra Conservation Camp Officer of the year - Don Connant - Correctional Sgt.
