Two Perish in Fatal Hwy 120 Crash...CHP Release Enclosed (Updated with Identities)

Groveland, CA...Two men a 35 year old Victor Mota of Turlock and his 45 year old passenger Mark McPhee of Stockton were both pronounced deceased at the scene. Notifications and positive identifications are still pending at this time. What is known is the just before 11pm last night a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling westbound on Hwy 120 east of Hamilton Station Loop at a high rate of speed. The pickup failed to negotiate a right curve in the roadway. The Chevrolet traveled off the roadway where the driver attempted unsuccessfully to regain control...

the vehicle struck a raised concrete curb. then traveled up the hillside where it collided with a road sign, pine trees and then went airborne for approximately 77 feet before colliding violently with a large pine tree.

The pickup wrapped around the tree and both the driver and his passenger were pinned inside of the vehicle and were pronounced deceased when emergency personal arrived on scene.

From all of us at ThePineTree.net our thoughts and prayers are with the friends and families of those involved at this time.
