Louis Leo Bremer died August 20, 2011, at the age of 91 years. Mr. Bremer was taken to St. Joseph’s Mark Twain Hospital on May 5, 2011, and was released to St. Joseph’s Mark Twain Convalescent Hospital May 9, 2011, where he received physical therapy and was doing quite well until recently. Mr. Bremer developed sepsis and was transferred back to St. Joseph’s Mark Twain Hospital on August 19, 2011, in the late afternoon and passed away early morning on August 20th.....
Mr. Bremer was born in Power, Montana on November 21, 1919, to Rudolph and Lena Bremer. As Mr. Bremer was raised on a farm by very devout Lutheran parents it was only natural that he too would become a farmer and have a great love for our Lord and Savior. Mr. Bremer had two brothers and one sister all of which have predeceased him. He is survived by many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews from the Bremer side of the family.
Mr. Bremer met and married Hazel Jacobsen in 1974. They continued to farm until Mr. Bremer sold the farm and they moved to California in 1981. Mr. and Mrs. Bremer built their house themselves in Valley Springs in 1981. They were married until Mrs. Bremer passed away April 20, 2006.
Mr. Bremer is also survived by his step-children to whom he had a very close relationship Douglas (Mary) Jacobsen of Stockton, California, Joanne (Dennis) Berzyck of Great Falls Montana, Clifford (Vickie) Jacobsen of Havre, Montana, Paulette (Lyle) Stott of Choteau, Montana, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Services will be Saturday, August 27, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Foothill Evangelical Lutheran Church, 225 Hwy 12, Valley Springs, California. In lieu of flowers a donation in Mr. Bremer’s name to the Foothill Evangelical Church is preferred.
A viewing to be held saturday at 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. August 27, 2011 also at the church. San Andreas Memorial Chapel in charge of arrangements.
