In Loving Memory of Magdolna Szabo 1920~2011

Magdolna (Magda) Poletzski (Szabo) was born in Budapest, Hungary and met her husband to be, Karoly (Charles) Szabo, as a childhood playmate when she was only 2 years old and Charles was 4 years old in Hungary. They became high school sweethearts and World War II caused a delay which lasted until Charles returned from the war and they were married in Budapest, Hungary in 1948 (A marriage lasting over 63 years). Post-WWII Communist oppression in Hungary resulted in .....

Charles & Magda becoming political refugees in 1967 at which time they fled the communists via refugee camps in Italy for approximately 6 months prior to arriving in the United States. Magda & Charles proudly became U.S. Citizens and began a new life as free Americans in 1968. Magda loved to teach piano and languages and she was employed for many years in the Bay Area as a quality control manager for a large company. Magda is preceded in death by her two infant children and she is survived by her lifelong friend, sweetheart and husband Charles.
