Country & Western Swing will Close Out Amador's TGIF Season on August 19th

Music by Feather River and the Patrons of the Arts Awards will be featured at the finale of AmadorArts TGIF concert series on August 19. Explore the vineyard beauty of Shenandoah Valley on your way to the event which will be at the Montevina and Terra d’Oro Wineries starting at 6:00 pm. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and picnics. This will be your last chance of the summer to take in a free TGIF concert.....

Rodger Faddis and Danny McCauley comprise Feather River and their music reflects their fondness of the country western style with a western swing flavor. Faddis plays rhythm guitar and provides vocals, while McCauley plays pedal steel guitar leads and sings backup. Audiences love the easy, smooth and upbeat sound.

Also on tap this evening will be the presentation of the annual Patrons of the Arts Awards who have been selected based on their generous work this past year in support of the arts in Amador County. Last year in 2010, the awards went to Jackson Rancheria CEO Rich Hoffman and to Barry and Sue Duncan. Barry is a very active musician, and he and his wife Sue are owners of Motherlode Printing. Sue is responsible for the booking and organizing all of the concerts of the TGIF series. Each in their own way have helped the arts stay alive in Amador County.

In Plymouth, from Highway 49, turn onto Fiddletown/Shenandoah Road. Proceed a quarter mile to where the road splits. Bear to the left and continue out towards the Shenandoah Valley. Less than two miles, turn right on Shenandoah School Road. Montevina and Terra d’Oro Winery is two miles out on the right side at 20680. There’s plenty of free parking. TGIF may be ending, but the music continues on. Save the date of September 24, 5:00 pm, when AmadorArts will present a benefit concert with the Sons of the San Joaquin at Helwig Winery. Reserve your $30 tickets now at www.brownbagtickets.com. For AmadorArts info, phone 209-223-9038.
