In Loving Memory of Rick Hecker, 1943~2011
Arnold, CA....Rick Hecker, 67, of Arnold, CA, passed away Apr 8, 2011. Rick was born in East St Louis, IL on Nov 1, 1943. As an adolescence, Rick moved to Sepulveda, CA where he graduated from James Monroe High School. Rick played football in high school and was, of course, a star. Since 1975, Rick has lived in Calaveras County. As a member of the Calaveras County Association of Realtors, he served as Chairman of the MLS for 4 terms, was on the Board of Directors for 8 terms and President for 2 terms. Rick was named Realtor of the Year (1992) and became a member of the Association of Realtor’s Hall of Fame (2001).....
Rick’s greatest achievements were that of a loving father and husband. Rick was a natural at raising children. He masterfully blended love, laughter, and discipline which created a safe, nurturing environment. Rick loved kids and the house was always open to all who stopped by. It was not uncommon for a houseful of kids to stop by to say “hi” and end up staying for dinner. He coached baseball and football.
As a husband he was thoughtful, caring, and always seemed to make life an adventure. His outgoing personality kept him and Nancy active in the community.
Rick is survived by his wife of 19 years, Nancy; father and mother, Lyle and Bettie Hecker; brother, Curt Hecker; sister, Judy Swiderski; four sons, Rod and Jim Hecker and Kevin and Keith Davey; and 11 grandchildren.
A memorial and celebration of life will be held at 11:00AM, Monday, Apr 18, 2011 at the Angels Gun Club located on Gun Club Dr. across from the County Fairgrounds. Reception will immediately follow.
