Tuolumne County Sheriffs Office Makes Two Arrests This Morning

Sonora, CA....This morning around 12:30 am Deputy David Vasquez saw a pick up truck driving on Chicken Ranch Rd, without a license plate. Dep. Vasquez activated his emergency lights to stop the truck at Table Mtn. Rd. but it continued to Chicken Ranch Casino where the driver drove around in the parking lot in the wrong direction, finally stopping backwards in a parking spot. The driver, Rodger Robbins Jr. 46 of Stockton, got out of the car and began walking around despite Dep. Vasquez’ orders to sit back down in the car. After several more orders Robbins finally complied but was very ......

uncooperative. Though not under arrest at the time, Robbins falsely stated he had a restraining order against the Sheriff’s Dept. and was going to sue for false arrest. When questioned about the absence of a license plate, Robbins said he had a temporary registration sticker in the back window. Dep. Vasquez examined the sticker and determined it had been forged and was actually issued to a different vehicle. After several field sobriety tests had been given, Dep. Vasquez determined that Robbins was under the influence of methamphetamine or something similar and possibly opiates.

Vazquez then contacted the passenger, Brenda Robbins 53, also from Stockton, who exhibited signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance. She was found to be in possession of a meth pipe and a search of the vehicle revealed marijuana and prescription medications that neither suspect had a prescription for. Both suspects were arrested and booked at county jail for possession of narcotics, narcotic paraphernalia, being under the influence of controlled substances, and forging vehicle registration documents.
