Murphys, CA...The Harbinger Gallery in Murphys will host a special show and sale with watercolorist Todd Abbott Winters throughout the weekend of Oct 9 -10. The artist will be showcasing new original watercolors, limited edition Giclee reproductions, and open edition prints while visiting with patrons all weekend. This is a great opportunity to drop in the gallery any time during the weekend (11am - 5pm Saturday and Sunday) to meet or chat with Todd, who has been showing at the Harbinger since 1994. Winters has been a professional artist in and around Taos, New Mexico and Kerrville, Texas since 1985. Constantly challenging himself to explore new artistic expression, Todd’s work has continued to develop and improve with each passing year. Todd says, “As long as I can remember, I have looked differently at art, thought differently, and painted differently. I consciously try to paint not what I see, but instead, how I feel about what I see.
Todd has been recognized over the years for expressive interpretations of brilliant aspen landscapes, twilight snow scenes, southwest adobe landscapes and explosive bear portraits in watercolor and acrylic. Without question, Winters is most concerned with color, form and texture. Todd feels that these three ingredients in the right combination transcend all barriers. It is his hope to be able to express himself more simply, clearly, and in a unique way. He cites the works of Winslow Homer and Georgia O'Keefe as most gratifying.
Most consistent in all of Todd’s work is his expressive use of color, sometimes over-the-top, but always a crowd-pleasing technique.
