42 Year Old San Andreas Resident, Jodi Jackson Loses Her Life in Hwy 49 Collision Last Night

Angels Camp, CA...42 year old Jodi Jackson was driving her 2007 Chevrolet in the Southbound traffic lane of Hwy 49 at approximately 55mph. A 52 year old San Andreas Women was driving her 2003 F150 in the Northbound lane at approximately 60mph. When Jackson for some unknown reason, momentarily applied her brakes forcefully without steering input. She then released the brake and swerved to the right extreme of the lane. Her Chevrolet then swerved back to the left and entered the Northbound traffic lane. The driver of the second vehicle observed her entering her lane and was unable to take evasive action....

The vehicles collided. After the collision, the Chevrolet came to rest on its wheels facing in an Easterly direction blocking the Northbound lane. The Ford F150 came to rest on its wheels facing in a North Easterly direction blocking the Northbound lane.

Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene. The 52 year old driver of the other vehicle was taken by air ambulance to Doctors Hospital in Modesto with minor injuries and her 41 year old passenger was taken by ground ambulance to Mark Twain St. Joseph's in San Andreas with moderate injuries.

All three women are San Andreas Residents...
