Jerry Yates Loses Life in Tragic Dog Attack in Mountain Ranch
Mountain Ranch, CA...On 8-22-10 at about 1720hrs the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office responded to 6987 Doster Rd in Mt. Ranch on the report of a deceased person. On arrival, deputies observed the deceased, Jerry Yates of Mt Ranch, appeared to have been mauled by possibly two pit bull dogs owned by Sheryl Sellers of Mt. Ranch. Sheryl Sellers was subsequently arrested for "Allowing vicious animals at large". One of th pit bulls was taken into custody by animal services...
The 69 year old Jerry Yates was known to many in the area as he owned and managed the Mountain Ranch gas station that closed last year.
