Kohl’s Department Store coming to Sonora by, Charity Maness
Kohl’s Department Store, originally of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, will be opening their doors soon in Sonora. “Kohl's mission,” as stated in store and online, “is to be the leading value-oriented, family-focused, specialty department store.” Kohl’s boasts a ranking of 24th largest retailer in the United States their name listed in the Fortune 500 and entered the S&P 500 in ’98.....
Jen Johnson, Kohl’s representative states “We have not announced an opening date or jobs at this point” however the banner on their new sign proudly claims an opening in the Fall. There is great anticipation for employment opportunities with Kohl’s in the community with one local paper claiming the chain could provide the “creation of 85 to 100 jobs.” While this has not been confirmed by Kohl’s there is activity on employment websites such as simplyhired.com and careerbuilder.com posting upcoming positions within Kohl’s at the Sonora location.
In order to give their future clientele the ‘best shopping experience possible’ Kohl’s hired the architectural firm of MulvannyG2 headquartered in Bellevue Washington. With 38 years of experience, offices worldwide, and a client list containing many fortune 500 companies, MulvannyG2 is sure to produce a free flowing shopping experience. Though remodeling has its own difficulties, this firm has a proven track record of perfection.
When asked if local qualified service providers were utilized for the construction or finishing of the Kohl’s remodel, Rosemarie Buchanan of MulvanneyG2 stated that they “won’t comment on their work for Kohl’s.” However, a quick drive by the Junction Shopping Center site and one can readily see the many local service trucks and equipment at the site and local service providers working on the project.
