Hospital Auxiliary Supports Wound Care Specialist

San Andreas, CA...The Mark Twain St. Joseph’s . Non-healing wounds are expensive in health care dollars and may result in a possible amputation, morbidity and a high percentage of patient mortality. A Wound Care Specialist is trained in comprehensive wound management, using advanced wound care treatments to meet the patient’s individual needs. “We are very proud to be able to support Patti in her continuing education” said Auxiliary President Florence Alberts. “Her certification will provide a valuable service for our community and fill a gap that currently exists”.

Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital is a not-for-profit, 25-bed general acute care hospital serving all of Calaveras County. Established in 1951 as Mark Twain District Hospital and centrally located in San Andreas, the hospital is partnered with Catholic Healthcare West to further strengthen this rural hospital to meet future community needs. The hospital is supported by 36 active physicians practicing in 24 specialties.
