Music for Flute and Harp at Amador City's Imperial Hotel

The Mother Lode Friends of Music, the regional organization of classical music performance, will be presenting a concert of music for flute and harp at Amador City's historic Imperial Hotel on Sunday, April 25, starting at 3 p.m. The concert will feature the Winter Moon Duo, comprising harpist Beverly Wesner-Hoehn and flutist Elizabeth Coronata in a program including music by Fauré, Villa-Lobos, Bach, Hovhaness, Ibert, Kupferman and Persichetti. The cost per person is $25, which includes a reception with appetizers prepared by the hotel kitchen's culinary staff and wines of Shenandoah Valley's Domaine de la Terre Rouge-Easton. Guests may also stay for the optional prix fixe dinner at the hotel, at an additional $25 per person. The hotel is offering a special concert and dinner package with one night's accommodations for two for $180.....

Harpist Beverly Wesner-Hoehn holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Pacific Union College, a Masters from the University of Southern California, and a Doctorate of Music from Indiana University, where she was Assistant Professor for many years. She also studied at the Conservatoire Royale de Musique in Belgium and has worked with many of the world's leading harpists, including Susann MacDonald. She has since performed in ten countries around the world and has ten recordings with a variety of musical colleagues to her credit. She now resides in Sacramento where she teaches privately and maintains a busy performance schedule.

Flutist Elizabeth Coronata was born and raised in Seattle, Washington, where her parents immigrated from Chili. Her musical education includes a Bachelor’s degree from the Peabody Institute in Baltimore. She has studied with Britt Johnson, James Pellerite and jazz teacher Joe Henderson. She now resides in Sacramento and performs with the Sacramento Philharmonic and Opera Orchestra.

Advance reservations are required before April 24. Tickets for the concert, the optional dinner and the weekend package may be purchased in person at the Imperial Hotel in Amador City during normal operating hours (Tuesday through Sunday after 4 p.m.) or by calling 209-267-9172. Tickets for the concert and optional dinner may also be purchased at Mother Lode Music, opposite Safeway in Martell. For further information, call 209-293-4227.
