Spectacular Kids Show Planned for Fair
ANGELS CAMP – The decks of a 25-foot-long paddlewheel steamboat will explode with a national marionette show at this year’s Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee. The Mitchell Marionettes will be featured in KidZone three times each day of the Fair, May 13 – 16, 2010. KidZone is a child-centered activity area that is fully sponsored by Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital....
“This incredible paddlewheel stage will fit right in with our celebration of Mark Twain this year,” said Fair Board President Stephen Kautz.
Popular with adults as well as children, the troupe’s Puppet Spectaculars are a tour de force of puppetry featuring ventriloquism, stringed marionettes and other puppet forms in a comical, musical, free-wheeling variety show. Three generations of the Mitchell Marionettes family have performed to millions of fairgoers throughout the US and Canada over the past four decades.
