What Do You Know About Autism?~Dr. Ryan Thompson Speaks at Ironstone Vineyards
Murphys, CA....Local Family Practice Physician Ryan Thompson was the guest speaker at the second “Let’s Talk Health” series luncheon at Ironstone Vineyards on March 10th, 2010. Dr. Thompson has made a passion out of his personal family involvement with Autism and shared the search for causes, treatment and prevention of this disease that affects one child in 150. Dr. Thompson’s dedication led him to found Mind Matters, a multi-disciplinary clinic specializing in Learning Disorders, Autism and ADHD. ....

“Dr. Thompson is an inspiration to us all and we are very pleased to have him speak as a community benefit of the Mark Twain Health Care District” said board member Robert Campana. “His family has had to contend with this disease and knows from personal experience the commitment and sacrifice each family member must make. Dr. Thompson’s presentation was an eye opener for all those in attendance.”
At the end of the presentation the Mark Twain Hospital Foundation Executive Director Peggy Lucas let Dr. Thompson know that they will be giving a $1,000 donation to help further his clinic's work.
This was the second in the series of “Let’s Talk Health” presentations. Dan Savage will speak on “Childhood Diabetes And Our Family” on March 17th followed by Dr. Rhoda Nussbaum on “Cervical Cancer Is Preventable” on March 24th. $25 includes lunch and all presentations begin at noon.
