Steve J. Pipes Passed Away on February 10th, 2010
Steve, age 50, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones on February 10, 2010 from complications of an industrial injury. Steve was born at the Community Hospital in Lodi on June 19, 1959 to James A. and Bonnie H. Pipes. Steve attended Lodi schools, especially enjoying the sports programs. Steve played on youth and adult baseball teams. He loved hunting, fishing with his grandpa Orville Bennett and Uncles, Dennis and Wayne .....
Bennett. Steve Bowled with his father Jim at Tokay Bowl in Lodi and they were First place champions so many years it became embarrassing! Jim taught Steve to golf and it became his favorite sport. When Steve moved to Calaveras County in 1985, La Contenta Golf Course became his second home. Steve became their Club Champion in 1989 and 1991. He was runner-up Champion in 1993. He met his Partner/Soul mate Mary Kay at the Golf Course where she was employed.
Steve was a charmer and had a delightful sense of humor. It was great fun to be in his presence and he loved spending time with his family and friends.
The focus of Steve’s life changed at the birth of his son Dennis Wayne Pipes. No child could be loved more.
Steve leaves behind hi Partner/Soul mate Mary Kay Pipes, his Mother Bonnie Pipes, Father James Pipes, Stepmother Joan Pipes, Sister Sharon & Dr Richard Siegfried, Brother Greg Hampel (deceased), Grandmother Violet Brooks, Uncles and Aunts Dennis & Donna Bennett, Wayne & Russhia Bennett, Rev. Hugo & Joanne Williams, Ken & Bessie Morris, Lee Roy & Mary Pipes, Jim & Brenda Novak, Melva & Devern Darnell, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am, Feb. 18, 2010 at the San Andreas Memorial Chapel, 254 W. St. Charles St. (Hwy49), San Andreas, Ca 95249. Interment will be private.
In Leu of flowers, the favored charity is San Andreas of Lockford SDA Church Community Service Program for the purchase of food for the poor.
