34th Annual Columbia Wine Tasting to Benefit Columbia College culinary Arts program
This spring the Columbia College Foundation will host the 34th Annual Columbia Wine Tasting – a benefit event that supports the Columbia College Culinary Arts Program, providing scholarships and essential program equipment. Featuring representatives from over 70 wineries, as well as delicious hors d’oeuvres prepared by culinary students and various local food purveyors, it is no wonder this premiere event is among the most popular spring activities in the Sierra foothills. This year’s tasting will be held Sunday, April 18 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Columbia State Historic Park....
The college’s growing culinary program, which prepares students for careers in various hospitality management-related positions, is accredited by the prestigious American Culinary Federation. “We can proudly claim that our graduates can be found in successful careers throughout the culinary world,” said Gene Womble, the hospitality management program coordinator at the college. “We appreciate the support this event draws from the Mother Lode area and throughout the state; everyone has a wonderful time, and our program continues to thrive from the support that we receive.”
Admittance is $45 per person; reservations can be made by calling (209) 588-5089 or online at www.gocolumbia.edu -- click on “Columbia Wine Tasting” under “Calendar of Events.”
