2010 OFFICIAL STATE VISITOR’S GUIDE NOW AVAILABLE ~By Lisa Mayo

The California Travel and Tourism Commission (CTTC) has just released their 2010 Official State Visitor’s Guide and Travel Planner. The cover of this year’s guide features a striking shot of Yosemite National Park. The guide is created to inspire consumers to travel to and within California and includes complete editorial with hundreds of listings to help consumers strategically plan their adventures in and around the state. The guide also includes a pullout Official State Map...

500,000 copies are published annually and the guide book is fully downloadable in Nxtbook format at visitcalifornia.com. The guides are distributed at the 13 California Welcome Centers, numerous visitor centers across the state and at CTTC international sales missions and at consumer and travel trade shows. The guide is promoted on visitcalifornia.com, and mailed free of charge to consumers who order it.

The Calaveras Visitors Bureau is pleased that Calaveras County has significant coverage in this year’s California Travel Planner. It highlights two major area events: One of the Calaveras Winegrape Alliances’ Passport Weekends and the Bear Valley Music Festival. Additionally, a number of Calaveras County businesses are highlighted in the “Gold Country Cool” article including O.A.R.S., Moaning Cavern Park, Jillian Day Spa, Gold Rush Originals and the Angels Camp Mercantile. A new feature, California Fives features Ironstone Vineyards as one of five wineries or wine trails spotlighted in Gold Country.

Visitors and residents alike can pick up a free copy of the guide at the Calaveras Visitors Center in historic downtown Angels Camp. Calaveras Visitors Bureau Executive Director, Lisa Mayo says, “The guide is a great resource for anyone looking for travel ideas in California. California is so big and vast in its offerings you may just discover a place or attraction you didn’t know existed!”
