Arnold Resident, Robert F. Bernhard Passed Away from Complications in an Auto Accident
Calaveras County, CA.....Arnold resident, Robert F. Bernhard, retired Food Industry Executive, died on November 21st, at age 79 due to complications from a car accident in Angels Camp on November 17th, 2009. He was a native of San Francisco. A graduate of New Mexico Military Institute, Roswell, NM. and of San Jose State University where he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. Robert was a Retired Supplier to the Retail Food Industry after 40 years of service as Vice President of Pioneer Soap Co., Inc. in San Francisco. Director of Distribution of Mothers Cake and Cookie Co., in Oakland, CA., and Pioneer Associates of Arnold, CA. He was active in the CA Grocers Association and the Western Association of Food Chains Inc. He was a 50 year member of Illuminations, Inc., and was a dimmed headlite of the Illuminators. A life member of the Food Industry Sales Manager Club of San Francisco, and a 50 year member of the Olympic Club of San Francisco, long time member of the Sequoia Woods Country Club, a past Big Sir of the Sons in Retirement, and a member of the Loyal Order of Moose in Arnold, CA.....
He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War with the 2nd Infantry Div as an Artillary Officer, was awarded the Combad Infantry Badge, Bronze Star, and Commendations Medal.
Beloved Husband of Joan Hills Bernhard (proceeded in death) for 23 years. Survived by Daughter, Teresa Jean Scheig, Son in Law, Mark Scheig, Grand Daughters, Morgan, Taylor and Brooke of San Jose. A Son H. Mark Bernhard of Larkspur formerly married to Rogene F. Bernhard of Larkspur for 21 years and many nieces and nephews.
A proud man who enjoyed life with his family and friends to the end.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday November 28th at 11am at the Angels Memorial Chapel in Angels Camp followed by a Celebration of his Life at his home in Arnold.
