Winners of the Blood Donor Non-Profit Challenge
In the summer months Delta Blood Bank, Sonora Regional Medical Center, MID Modesto Irrigation District, University of Pacific Hearing and Balance Center and Law Offices of Patrick D. Riddle, P.C. joined together and hosted the 2009 Blood Donor Non-Profit Challenge. The Non-Profit Challenge gave the non-profits the opportunity to recruit blood donors to compete for funds to help their charity. The competition was very close between the two front runners with the Tri-County Autism Group coming in 1st place and Area 12-Agency on Aging taking 2nd place.....
Jeff Eller of Sonora Regional Medical Center presents a check for One Thousand dollars to the representative of the Tri-County Autism Group Jeff Copper and his son Connor.
Jeff Eller, the CEO of Sonora Regional Medical Center presents the 2nd place winner a check for five hundred and fifty dollars to Valerie Whetzel of Front Porch, Inc representing the Area 12 Agency on Aging in Tuolumne County.
Tri County Autism Group will use their winnings to continue to raise awareness and money for children and families of children with autism in Amador, Tuolumne and Calaveras counties.
Area 12 Agency on Aging offers programs of its own and works with other agencies to help seniors live independent lives depends on federal and state money. The winnings will go toward the Linkage Program which pays for necessities for clients when items or services can’t be provided through other means.
