Local man wins Subaru at AMA Boosters Club fundraiser Sonora Subaru Contest Gives 2010 Subaru To Lucky Winner
Angels Camp, CA- Murphys resident Mark Seim won a brand new 2010 Subaru (valued at $25,000) courtesy of Sonora Subaru during the annual Warren Miller Ski movie in Angels Camp on Friday night. Everyone that attended the event received a scratcher game card entering them in the contest. Seim uncovered six identical keys on his card and was awarded the new car.

“I was sitting there and was stunned,” Seim said after winning the car. “I’m still waiting for the punch line....you’re on candid camera!”
The contest was being run as part of the AMA Boosters Club Snowsports fundraising event that even without giving away a new car is packed with outrageous prizes where almost everyone wins something. The group is showing the movie again next Friday, November 27th in Bear Valley and reports that tickets are still available to the event.
“This is just the second time we’ve run this contest and to have someone win is really exciting,” said Bob Gelman, a representative of Sonora Subaru. “It is great to be involved in a terrific cause and have something like this happen- I hope we have another winner next weekend in Bear Valley!”
The winning ticket was uncovered during the intermission grand raffle of amazing prizes being given away to movie-goers. As names were beginning to be pulled from the box of entries, Gelman hurried excitedly up to the stage saying, “I think we just gave away a new car!” The drawing was halted while the winning ticket was inspected and the name was announced.
In addition to giving away a 2010 Subaru, Sonora Subaru also gave away an iPod Touch and a free oil change good for any foreign or domestic car. Other prizes given away included a season pass courtesy of Bear Valley Mountain, season cross-country trail pass courtesy of Bear Valley Cross Country, a number of new skis, poles and other items donated by Bear Valley Sport Shop, a variety of lodging and dining gift certificates and other hats, shirts and smaller items.
Barry Ward of Barry Ward Realty was selected as the Grand Prize Winner of the Warren Miller contest winning a DVD of a past movie and getting entered into an exclusive drawing with other grand prize winners from around the country for a ski trip to Portillo, Chile.
Tickets to the Bear Valley screening of Warren Miller’s “Dynasty” are available in Murphys at Sierra Hills Market; in Arnold at Big Trees Market or at the Bear Valley Sport Shop and can be ordered by phone: 753-2844.

The AMA Boosters Club has a more than 30 year record supporting youth athletic programs in Calaveras County. The Snowsports program supports the involvement of Calaveras County and Bear Valley kids in a range of winter sports activities and helps them build active life-long skills. The organization provides funds to local school snow experience programs from Bear Valley to Angels Camp and has a scholarship program to help local kids participate in the Race, Freeride and Development team programs at Bear Valley Mountain.
