Bear Valley is Getting Ready for Opening Day! ~By John Hamilton

Murphys, CA...Last week Bear Valley Resort invited the local business community to attend their kickoff meeting where they laid out their plans for this season. Ironstone Vineyards played host to the event. The snow may still be a few weeks away but they are ready to go and provide world class, family entertainment here in our backyard. BV's Marketing Director Rosie Sundell led the presentation that featured a range of speakers from BV CEO Martin Wegenstein, GM Jim Gentling, Mountain Manager Jon Mahanna, HR Director Andrea Young Bear Vally Lodge General Manager Mark Phillips. Also featured were partner businesses in the Bear Valley community like Bear Valley Cross Country and Adventure Company, Mountain Adventure Seminars, Bear Valley Snowmobile and more. One of the memorable moments when Jon Mahanna was talking about one of the new features for the terrain park this season....

They are actually gong to turn one of their old buses into a feature for the those so inclined to ride, ski and "Honk or Bonk the Bus" this year.

Jon Mahanna went on to explain that larger than life features like the bus are becoming the next Big Thing at resorts.

If mother nature plays along they could open as soon as Thanksgiving but will open for sure to 7 Day a week action on December 18th.

Bear Valley went out of their way to say that they market the entire area as a destination and that by promoting Calaveas County and it's many attractions. They can start putting into practice marketing this are as the "Base Camp" for all of your outdoor activities...

We have the entire video presentation below...
