The Lines Were Long and the Smiles Were Wide ~By John Hamilton
Arnold, CA...The Meadowmont Shopping Center is the place to be in Arnold with two new businesses opening in the space of a week. We stopped by the New Calaveras Society's Thrift Store just before opening last week. There was a line formed just waiting to get in. It was an auspicious start for the new home for bargain hunters in Calaveras County. Jenny Roland former owner of Highland Books is the new store manager and all of the Humane Society Volunteers have done a great job getting the store ready to go....
Don Shinn with the Table and Chairs that were the first purchase at the new Humane Society Thrift Store in the Meadowmont Center. Just click on Mr. Shinn's smiling face for more pictures..
Also adorning the front of the store is the Beautiful Calaveras Humane Society Painted Frog that District 3 Supervisor and Humane Society Fan, Merita Callaway purchased at Frogtoberfest last weekend.
Local realtor, Don Shinn, was the first customer as he bought a table and chairs for his kids. My wife has found a new shopping home as well. She has actually been to the store 4 times just this last week.
They are holding their Grand Opening this Friday. Thanks to the Humane Society for investing in a new business in Calaveras County. It looks like a hit!!
