Fine contemporary dining at Columbia College restaurant

Columbia, CA....This fall, the public is invited to dine on contemporary cuisine on Tuesday evenings at the Cellar Bistro at Columbia College, located on the first level of the Manzanita Building. Starting on Sept. 15, the restaurant will be open in the evenings for patrons from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Presented by the college’s advanced contemporary cuisine class, students will plan and prepare special culinary fare at the college. In addition, tables will be served by students enrolled in the dining room management class.....

“Our fine dining experiences are entirely student driven,” said Chef Gene Womble, the college’s hospitality management program coordinator. “They receive training to do everything that takes place in an upscale dining establishment. The public will also have an opportunity to enjoy an exquisite meal with a contemporary flair at a very reasonable cost.”

For the Cellar Bistro’s opening night on Sept. 15, the three-course menu will consist of classic gazpacho; coconut shrimp with orange horseradish marmalade or melon with prosciutto and balsamic vinaigrette; breast of chicken marsala with garlic mashed potatoes ($15.95) or rack of lamb with herb roasted red potatoes, mint ju lie ($16.95). Ala carte dessert is additional.

“We are opening our Cellar Bistro only on Tuesday nights this fall,” said Womble. “Our dinners are extremely popular, so reservations are highly recommended.” For reservations, call 588-5300.
