"Fit Facts"~ With Amy Renn of Terra Firma Fitness and Massage

With the summer festivities officially beginning, the collaboration of family, friends, parties and vacations can deter you from your routine and your healthy living practice. Even with the intention to be fun, the holidays often have a stressful element. You may find it tricky to get in your regular workout, or stick to your healthy organic meals. So, what to do to stay fit, healthy and stress free during this summer holiday time? To begin with set your intentions for the day, if you know that you have an event in the....

afternoon and it conflicts with your normal run or bike, then restructure your day. Possibly get out for your run in the morning, share it with a friend that is visiting, or walk, bike, or run to the BBQ. Take time in each day for yourself, no matter how much of a hustle the day might be. Remember this time for you is not only physically beneficial but emotionally as well. One of the best ways to get through the stress of any situation, 4th of July holidays included, is to exercise and eat well. Choose a plentiful selection of fruits and veggies, salads and nuts as a contribution to your local potluck/BBQ. And to remember everything in balance and moderation, be gentle on yourself if you do in fact miss out on a run, or if you eat something out of your realm of healthy. To eliminate unnecessary stress you may place on yourself, remember, you are human and balance is everything.
